Book Review: Simple Sewing for Baby
The title of the book really says it all. Lotta Jansdotter has created a very simple and easy to follow book of projects for your baby or toddler. The book has twenty-four fun and easy projects to make. They range from activities and clothing for your baby to functional items for parents to use in their day-to-day dealings. These projects can be easily modified to fit your needs. Any person can whip up these modern accessories in very little time.
I think that this book is an excellent choice for any beginning sewers. It is easy to follow and doesn’t include any difficult sewing. You will enjoy completing these projects and marvel at how great they all turn out. I also recommend this book if you are looking for fun and easy projects that you can give away as gifts. Any mother-to-be or mommy is going to love these items. This is also a great book to buy if you want to find some quick and easy projects that you can complete in a small amount of time. I like to think of them as nap time projects. Things you can complete while your baby or toddler is napping. What a grand idea!
These are the projects that this book has to offer you:
Clothing: Baby Bloomers, Bib Kercheif, Simple Dress, Simple Pants, Decorated Tees and Bodysuits, Baby Hat, & Soft Hat and Scarf set. Toys: Giraffe Rattle, Monster Buddy, Soft Letters, Quiet Book, & Tag Blankie. Tor the Home: Snuggler, Bib, Play Quilt, Book Mates, Nursing Pillow, Towel Hoodie, Washcloths, & Crib Bumper. For Going Out: Diaper Bag, Changing Pad, Velcro Pouches, & Burp Rags.
I have made quite a few of the projects provided by this book, so you can get an idea of what is available to you. Here are some pictures of my creations.
Tomorrow we’ll be reaching the climax of our book review. We’re going to be making a little matching set for bath time. That’s right, you’re going to learn how to make your own washcloths and a hooded towel for baby. So get ready……
Enjoy!
